It’s that time of the year again, filled with goblins, pumpkins, ghouls, candy, and our annual Avatar cosplay/makeup post. If you have missed the previous two I will link them below. It’s fun to show off the many talented artists from Instagram, who through makeup and their own body create an amazing likeness to the Na’vi. Here are some of the best found from this past year. Happy Halloween 2020! Continuing on from our Halloween 2019 tradition, I wanted to share some of my favorite make up and cosplay artists from Instagram. Each person has given permission to use their photo and I included a link to each of their profiles. I love the varying hair styles, colors, and techniques that each person used, they all make for vastly different variations, but they are all beautiful and unique.

A big irayo (thank you) to everyone for sharing their talented pictures with me. Something that is awesome about the Na’vi in Avatar is they are all blue, they don’t have to deal with some of the things we do. With that said the ladies who’ve created these amazing makeup designs aren’t blue, they have all different colors of skin and come from all around the globe, and some have personally dealt with racism. There was a post on @diane.mi Instagram that really hit me. The caption was this, “Growing up in predominately white schools, I was always mocked for everything linked to my korean heritage.⁣” That’s heart breaking to read as a white person. I don’t know Diane personally but from the tiny bit I’ve spoken to her I can tell she’s a lovely person. Take a moment and think about what you say, how it potentially impacts others for years after you said it. Let’s be positive, lift each other up, love one another. That also can help impact peoples lives in a positive way for years to come. You never know what people are dealing with behind the scenes. I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween 2020 and you get to enjoy it with friends and family.

Halloween tips and links to become your favorite Na’vi or Avatar

Halloween is now only 3 days away. If you’re looking for a way to finish off your Avatar costume this Saturday there are a few ways you can do so. One of the most popular ways is by doing a Halloween staple, face paint.

Here is a really good Na’vi makeup tutorial by @blancablogs, special thanks to Blanca for letting us share this with you.

If makeup isn’t your thing, or you want to try and compliment face makeup without going full body paint, visit shopDisney. There you can pick up a great looking Na’vi hoodie or shirt. At different times they also have in stock Na’vi tails, knives, spears, and a few other great accessories.

Another great compliment to the face paint, and a nice way to avoid the time consuming full body paint, is a body suit from Ruby’s, which can be found on Amazon HERE. Or if you’re looking for a Jake Sully RDA costume, it can be found on Amazon as well HERE.

Happy Halloween ma tsmuke and tsmukans. I wanted to celebrate by showing some of the extremely talented makeup artists, cosplayers, and fans of Avatar that have been showing up on my Instagram feed lately. I love that they are all super talented and created something similar, yet all are still different. There are different shades of blue, different stripes, and eyebrows, just showing us there are so many ways to accomplish the same thing and still look phenomenal. The artists come from all over the world. I hope these pictures can inspire you to create your own Na’vi costume for this Halloween, or even next year, the Instagram names with a link to each artists page is included above their photo.
